Ancient Ruins: Pucará de Rumicucho

The ruins at Tulipe were built by the Yumbo people, who made their homes in the valleys and mountains surrounding Quito between 800 and 1660 AD. The Tulipe Archaeological Site features the ruins of eight structures with numerous pools that indicate its ceremonial importance as a place where cleansing rituals took place.
